Hermann at work in front of the wall of signed shirts

WHO HERMANN IS

Hermann Barber, more than fifteen years in the trade.

He started cutting hair at 14 and never stopped. Today he works by appointment, one client at a time, with the same attention to detail as on day one.

HERMANN

The difference is in the edges.

The cut is decided before the clippers go on: the shape of your head, the direction your hair grows, how you actually wear it every day. That’s where you build a result that doesn’t only look right the same day, but holds until the next cut.

Knowing where to lift the clipper without having to think about it is a matter of hands, not speed. Here it runs by appointment and we never juggle two clients at once, so everyone gets the time the work needs.

He started cutting hair at 14, just for fun. Today it’s his trade, and his strength is working well on every type of men’s hair — Afro, Caucasian, Chinese, Indian: the technique changes, not the care, so the result is always the cut and the service you came looking for.

“You listen before you cut. The rest is just technique.”

THE CRAFT

First you look at how they fall.

Then you cut, without rushing.

The edges don’t forgive.

The craft shows in the details.

AMONG OUR CLIENTS

The shirts on the wall aren’t just décor.

Zapata, Gollini, Lookman, Okoli, Diallo, Tomori, Leão’s dreadlocks, and even Kyle Walker of Manchester City: more than a hundred Serie A players have put themselves in Hermann’s hands. It doesn’t always happen at the shop: often he is the one who travels to them. The signed shirts, though, end up here, hanging above the mirrors.

ONE AFTER ANOTHER

Serie A goes through his hands.

The professionals who trust Hermann, one after another.

HOW THE WORK GOES

Three things, always in the same order.

Nothing secret about it: it’s the round we do on every client, from the first of the day to the last.

01

We look

How the hair falls when it’s dry, which way the growth turns, what you didn’t like about last time.

02

We cut

We never start without a consultation. Then lengths with scissors, fade with the clipper, checked against the light at every pass.

03

We finish

Razor outlines, final styling and a couple of pointers on keeping it up — at home or for an important occasion.

THE STUDIO

Behind the sign there’s a passion.

Hermann Barbershop isn’t just a name on the sign: it’s a standard. Hermann sets it, in the shop from the first client of the morning to the last of the evening, and it applies to every service that leaves here. Whoever walks in should find the same level every time, the best the shop can give, whatever they came in for.
